I don't think $800 is a realistic price for an RNS E.

But if it was $800 I'd be first to throw my money in.

x3 on this. I'm in 100% on this price but highly unlikely due to them going for close to $1400. Volume would definitely make up for the low price but then all those who cancel would ruin it. If there was some way to put money down to reserve one and to commit to this I think we could do it. Then if someone cancelled, there should be a partial repayment. Maybe this sounds mean but I know that doctors do this so its not unreal. I mean if I make an appointment and I don't show up, I get charged. I think if this could be done, the price could be lowered a good amount. Hopefully someone will consider this.

At $800 there would be no profit for anybody anywhere, more like a $300 loss (on a used unit)...

The only way you will ever find a RNS-E for $800 will be DOA, or stolen.

Your best bet is to scour eBay.de and look for them to pop up. Shipping from Germany is about $80


Let's just say that you are selling something regularly for $1,200 that costs you $840 (30% markup) and you lower the price to $1000 for a group buy of 10 units.

You sell all 10 and get $10,000 total on $8,400 invested $1,600 profit on the investment.

Now take the same item and sell it at full price of $1200 and sell five units $6,000 total , $4,200 invested $1,800 profit on the investment, half as much work, plus you still have 5 more units to sell in the future.

Have to agree with you on that. RNS-Es hold their value well. I had one in my B6 for 2 years, and I sold it for about $1300 I believe back in march. Infact, If I could find them for $800 bucks, I'd probably buy as many as I could get and resell them, because thats a steal... literally.

$800 on new RNS-E will never happen like 400HPA4 said. if anyone ever sell a brand new RNS-E unit for $800, here might be why. he got that darn thing for free, or he stole it,. $800 on a used unit will not happen either. a whole package costs money here and there. maybe you can spend $800 but you will only get a used head unit, then you will need to source everything else which can quickly adds up to $1000 or more.

if you are extremely lucky on Ebay.de or you find it in the junk yard, you will pay much less.

Under $800 buy it now... I bought mine from this guy and it was here in no time in great condition. Then using a few custom Cds and VagCom, I had it converted to American spec in no time.

I'm in for 1200 for a new unit with all the accessories. has to be from an A6 though.

Edit: I just e-mailed vagnav to see if they will offer a group buy. they are currently selling them for 1450 so a modest price break would leave us looking at 1200 hopefully.

I wouldn't care if it was an EU unit as long as it looks new and works. Preferably with all the necessary parts like GPS antennae, adapter, removal keys, radio diversity antennae. DVD map can be d/l and burned so that doesn't matter.
