That's a wedge type bulb-end and won't work without some kind of adaptor. I know there's an adaptor out there cuz I've come across them searching for LED city lights. I just called ECS...Chris told me they just got several types of LED city lights in for the B6 E-codes and they will be testing them to see which, if any, work without throwing a lamp-out code. He said to check with them at the end of next week. He said as is, they should sell for significantly less ($19). Fingers crossed.

Channa, the city lights are on the Ecodes and,like a DRL they provide light for others to see your car but don't provide the driver any visible light to use for driving. They are also mounted on the side of the reflector housing instead of dead in the middle.

Correct. In Europe, when you are sitting at an intersection, you flip off the main headlights as a courtesy to the drivers facing you. They do actually provide enough light for you to navigate slow, dark streets, but you would never use them at speed.

When I just run my fogs, my parking lights and city lights are on. When my lights (headlights and fogs) are off, I have the option of running (or not running) my DRL's. When my headlights are on, the DRL's are off (if I remember correctly) and my city lights are on.

ECS have the kit including ballast resistor per OP for $49.95 shipped, and also the bulbs only for adding your own resistors for $19.95 + shipping (which was $10 to CA)

Charles, you're right. I have the city lights also. Never knew that. They go on with the parking lights. When the parking lights are on so are the city lights. Time for a city light mod. whoo hooo

Yeah, you're as clear as mud there friend. So you have
fogs; parking; city; headlights; DRLs; and blinkers too?

I guess I'm lost at the parking light bit. To me those are the blinkers left or right (on steady and according to blinker stalk position) when the key is out.

Yes! I also have the fog light mod, which allows me to run the fog lights without the headlights being on. Below, you can see a picture of the fog lights, parking lights (which include the blinkers), and city lights on. The city lights are reflecting into the DRL housing causing the DRL's to look like they may be on, but they are definitely off.

LED's never work well with reflector housings. That's one reason that I never liked to use the for turn signals and side markers.

Yep, ECS just sells the bulbs if you already have the resistors setup.

Actually, they look ALOT brighter in the pictures. They look just right in person. And I do agree that the reflector doesn't light up as much as before (because the led's are focused forward).

Thanks. And, yes...very true...there is a slight 'bounce'...but, not as much as before

I just like not having the yelowish stock white...AND...its much brighter than the hyper white 194's...which I also like.
