    Headlight out of wack?!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Recently I've noticed that my lowbeams are aimed quite high. So much so that I am constantly getting high-beamed at night by on-coming traffic and tonight I even got pulled over by NYPD for having my "highbeams" on (Luckily I was able to talk my way out of any sort of ticket )

    So what could it be?

    Anyone else have this problem?

Have you modified your lights recently?

    Haven't touched them ever

I did however do a full stasis c/o install do you think it could be a damaged level sensor?

Your suspensions shouldn't have anything to do with your lights. Just bring your car to the dealership and show them. Being that you have never done anything to your headlights, they should fix everything for you.

    Re: Headlight out of wack?!

surprisingly the dealership does not know shit about the lights, trust me..
you wolud tell them to fix the aiming, and in a cocky "i know shit about shit" attitude, they will "attempt" to aim the lights by opening a manual or going online to see how headlights could be aimed, which is 90% of the time the wrong info, in other words they will not properly aim the lights, afterall..most dealerships are not equipped with headlight aiming software, i could be wrong..but before you possibly waste money and time, take this into your own hands

most people are under the impression that the lights self adjust themselves, not true, the lights just rotate with turns to improve corner lighting, and the main function is to keep the beam down during acceleration, as well as to compensate for different weight loads on the car, this all based on the original aiming of the beams location via the aiming screws, for example...if the drivers side is aimed at 90 degrees, and the passenger at 60 degrees, both lights will move from these locations, and rest back there when vehicle is returned to rest, the lights wont "self adjust" ever, thats not their purpose, this is why aiming is key in this systems proper design

you can however adjust beam height by trning the white plastic screws on top of the light with a phillips screwdriver, clockwise raises beam and counter clockwise lowers beam. just lower them until the cutoff line appears to be just below below oncoming traffics eyes, once done make sure both sides are even with eachother, beam should look like this..

    _________/'''''''''''/'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''

    not like this...

    ....................../''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
    _______/''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''

half the people ive seen have their lights like that and theyre not getting the use out of their xenons because of being aimed in the sky or 2ft infront of the car..

ADJUST YOUR LIGHTS PEOPLE! its not that hard just give it a try

and to check if your dynamic feature is functioning, you should see the lights move during startup of engine, also you will see beam "dip" or lower during heavy acceleration, and raise during heavy braking. If this isnt working you have a problem with your dynamic system, take to dealer they actually know about that..
