    Horrible beeping problem?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
first of all, i did use the search button. i could diagnose a problem

when i start the car. it beeps. close the door. it continues to beep. on the cluster i see the oil service sign flashing. i have changed the oil- would i have to reset that system?

after about a minute, the oil service light is off and the beeping continues.

when i turn on my head lights. oh my! the beeping turns into a constant beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep! for a good couple mins.

finally it turnes into a beep........ beep. about 2 seconds in between.

the whole process last about 5 to 6 minutes. the most annoying 5 or 6 mins ever.

please help, maybe i can just eliminate all beeping all together. attack the fuse?

    thank you

    - oh and when i have the cabbin light on- the noise dissapears. but as soon as the cabbin light is off. the noise continues

I'm thinking it could be an ignition switch problem. Reset the oil light and go from there though.

    Re: Horrible beeping problem?

You need to reset your service interval. That should remove the beeping for the oil. And the beeping of the headlights sounds more of the warning of when the doors are ajar and headlights are on. I would look into those connections.

Resetting interval for pre-facelift (though the write up says 98-99, I will assume it is for prefacelift)

Resetting service interval light for facelift (though it says 2001-?, I will assume it is for facelift)
I hate it when my car acts like a little bitch, treating me like a bitch

Maybe the door ajar sensor is getting messed up, since it happens when the headlights are on.
