Yes my block will be arriving at Bob @ QEDPOWER's shop Thursday to be bored to 83mm for my 83mm 9.1:1 Supertech Stroker pistons that will be on my Pauter rods bolted to an AEG 92.8mm crank also sourced from Bob (sitting here at the house already). He said he will be bringing it to the shop he uses for machine work that day and should get it sent back out to me the very next day.

I had the block at another machine shop but they turned up not having a torque plate and I couldnt end up getting one to rent due to it being rented to a guy in California right now, so I had the block shipped back to me then out to Bob. Sucks all this caused like 2.5-3 weeks extra down time since the block was at the other shop for a week and now it will take like 5 days both ways to and from Bob.

its a few more weeks downtime now, david, versus another complete engine build. i didn't trust that other machine shop based on the info you provided us here on AZ. now you are in good hands

Im thinking like 8200 tops but probably shift at 8000. For some unknown reason I bought the regular cat springs instead of the gold. Bob said they would be ok to like 8400 running at the track but for everday I should stay under like 8200.

I have been doing price quotes for shipping and they are gouging right now. Southwest Air Cargo is the cheapest around, you are inconvienced by having to go to the airport however.

It was 35lbs (Turbo, Manifold, Test Pipe, Injectors, Neuspeed tip, couple bolts and stock oil return line).

Oh thats not bad....I guess a 1.8, 4-cylinder block isnt the biggest thing around

I had the head done at a shop 2 hours from me which a local courier took the head there and back for $50. Had the valve seats cut then new seals installed and my new exhaust valves and new springs. The charged $225 for the work and like $46 for the seals. I could have got the seals for like $1/piece so I kinda payed double for them but o well what is $20

That's a good price to send that block all the way up the eastern seaboard.

It cost Jordan a few hundred to crate ship his engine back and forth to Bob. Then again, that is a complete engine which weighs a hefty amount. I noticed the rear suspension in my Jeep Cherokee settle a bit when I put my 2.0 in it. The Jeep actually handled so much better with that weight in the back. That vehicle is nothing but a fully enclosed pick-up truck when it comes down to how the suspension is loaded.

I spent $95 shipping a complete 1.8T head from CT out to San Francisco.. USPS priority. The customer wanted it as quick as possible and paid the difference over regular parcel post. I had it in three thick cardboard boxes with a lot of bubble wrap. Weighed in somewhere around 57lbs.
