Hey guys i currently own a B5 Stage 3- S4 , thinking about selling it because im getting wayyyyyy to many tickets and fines. I really like the look of the A4 s-line with the titanium package and I am currently looking for one (damn there hard to find!?) Anyways im used to big power and just wanted to know what the adverage stage 2 A4 would put out (hp) ? Thanks

I had to order mine to get what I wanted. I have a buddy now looking for one and its almost impossible to find many manuals sitting on lots! But believe me, you will miss the power severly. I went from an E46 M3 to this for practicality and the fact that I racked up double digit points speeding. I chipped mine and that helps significantly, but judging by the power you must have in that B5 S4 you will find yourself starving for more with the A4.

Anyone can get speeding tickets in any car, even a stock Hyundai Elantra. Why does it matter what kind of car you have if you're a lead foot? If I can drive an S55 (AMG, 0-60 in 4secs, 12sec 1/4mi) and not get any speeding tickets, one shouldn't blame the car.

BTW, the 2.0T kicks the S55 in the nuggets when it comes to practicality too: 14mpg vs. 33+mpg and better handling to boot. Heck, even an SUV I own beats the S55 in practicality.

bmeister, the amount of power a car puts down as well as its sporty nature DOES influence the way its operator drives. See Car and Driver for a great article on how the employees there fell into zombie mode after drving a prius long enough, even though they have plenty of fun in high end cars. For a lot of people, having a lot of torque available under your foot is the equivalent to having a little devil on your shoulder saying "cmon floor it, feel the power!" Sure, anyone can drive a Ferarri and not get a ticket, but who do you think more likely has a clean driving record with less time spent over the triple-digit mark, the ferarri driver or the hyundai driver? this is also part of the reason why insurance rates are generally higher on higher hp cars. its nature and nurture....

i also came from an e46 m3.....it's alot easier to hit 100+ in a car with 300+ hp. the a4 is coming a little lower, but still has the class that the m3 had, sans the power. i'm happy with the a4, though there are times i do miss the little pick up the m3 had. but you're dead on when it comes to practicality

Those HP figures are really conservative for stage II specially when some of the FWD cars are doing that or more to the wheels. This is on a dyno the same dyno that gave an e90 330i 207 hp to the wheels ( Factory claims 255 bhp).
