dont use the radio transmitters apple store sells, belkin sucks, the others suck even more... waste of money... If u have aftermarket radio with AUX plugin, u can just use the hardwire thing... not sure what its called... but no radio bull****

Not sure if they made one for the IPhone yet.. I have the Audi one for the Ipod and it works great, but if you plug the Iphone in, the quality sucks and the volume is super low.

Re: iphone hookups on car? anyone use ice link or something similar?

I got the oem ipod adapter and there are a couple of things that bug me

    1) Apple no longer supports charging from the firewire port. The oem ipod cable uses firewire-style charging (12v, instead of USB's 5v), so it does not charge the iphone.
    2) When plugged in, the ipod's interface is locked up. You can ONLY use the symphony controls to change tracks, etc and it's not exactly easy to use. Good luck finding the music you want to listen to without the ipod interface active :-/

Maybe it's just my setup, but when using the iphone as an mp3 player through your car stereo the phone can NOT make or receive calls.

also what bananas said about firewire charging. The first iphone works great with ice link but the 3G will not charge... It sucks ass, i decided not to get the 3G just for this reason, i love having my iphone in the car.

I use my tape thing from my ipod, but the iphone comes through the speakers and makes a ton of noise while driving.

be careful too i work at an audio shop and a lot of the stuff on the market turns uyour iphone into airplane mode... so no calls will go through... UNLESS you jsut do an auxilary... and even then.. you can get a part called an FMM100A.. its made by audiovox.. it is a hardwires fm transmitter... it goes inline wiht your antenna so when you flip the switch and go to 89.1 its CRYSTAL clear... it honestly is about CD quality.. and reason being is because the part disconnects all frequencies to your antenna.. so with that switch flipped.. you wont be able to find ANY radio signals... and.. its only 50 bucks

Find an ICE LINK by dension-ice.

I bought one at best buy like 4 years ago for my B5 A4, and it plugged in perfectly into my B6 04 1.8t. It takes the place of the SAT connection. You can't get better quality than this..

I dont know how you set it up, but on mine I can make and receive phone calls no matter what am doing with the iphone: playing games, MP3/Video playing, etc etc. I think the process for making/receive calls has a very high priority on the iphone's OS.
