Ski Rack, Kayak Rack, Snow Tires

Any suggestions on a rack for skis and kayaks? Thule says that their engineers can't determine how to safely attach one to the roof and their only rear racks are for bikes.

Also, as winter is quickly approaching, does anyone have recommendations (good and bad) for winter tires? I've tried Tire Rack, but they have no information yet, even though the A5's/S5's have been around through one winter. Since this is for an A5 S-line that comes with 19" wheels, should I go with 19's or drop down to 18's, recognizing that I really do have to make it through snow deeper than 1-2 inches.

    Thnks.

My A5 actually used Hakkapeliitta 5 snowtires with spikes (studded).

But we normally have pretty much snow over here (sweden) during the winters..
I ride on 17" winterrims (will probably go on 19" when my 6-piston is fitted)

I have Nokians Hakka RSI myself. It would be best, if possible to drop down to a 18" (or even smaller if the brakes allow for it) with thinner width tires.

    Racks???

Tire Rack showing a "preferred" 17" winter package for $1280. Obviously thinner is better for snow, but is this too far? Since we had a fairly non-winter last year in this area, expecting this winter to be the proverbial bitch.

Looks good. Question, when you removed the rack was the rubber gasket messed up in anyway. That's the part i'm worried about. Messing up the window trim and having to buy new ones..

I run 17" set with Dunlop Wintersport 3D performance winter tire. No issues what so ever going through the Wisconsin winter. Run 19's in the summer.
