Hello and welcome to the September 2008 edition of our Audizine Newsletter. As we head into winter there are only a few big Shows and Events remaining, information about these are just below. On top of that we've got our usual wrap-ups on the latest Industry News and Motorsport News. You can of course also find our other usual monthly features such as the latest Featured AZ'er and the newest companies to join our prestigious list of Official Audizine Advertisers.

But we do have something new this month, which may become a regular monthly staple on Audizine - an Official Monthly Poll. Well OK it's not so new, we used to have these way back on Audizine Version 1.0, but that may be before many of you were around (or even owned your first Audi). At any rate, for some strange reason we're feeling very democratic these days, and we're leaving the future of the "free Audizine world" in your hands! As mentioned last month, and coming up soon, there's H2O International in Maryland. We have a good number of AZ'ers signed up to go again this year, and it should definitely be a great time for all. New to the list this month, we wanted to mention APR's Grand Opening and Customer Appreciation Day which is set for October 18th. The team at APR is known for throwing a great party, and with their brand-new facility it looks like this year is going to be bigger and better than ever! Details on both of these events are below.

September '08 Featured AZ'er: RAVI's '02 A4 sedan

When life gives us lemons we have two choices; we can get sour about it, or we can make lemonade. So when life throws a deer at the front of our car we can either get all pissed off and cry, or we can use that opportunity to build from. While I'm pretty sure our friend Ravi here might have shed a tear or two at first, when everything settled down he used his brush with wildlife to make a good thing even better. This month's Featured AZ'er has had numerous up-and-downs (and not to mention, various sets of wheels). He's really learned a lot about both the car and himself over his past few years of ownership. These Audis just seem to do that to some people, and Ravi (whose Audizine username is coincidentally 'RAVI') is one of those enthusiasts. More

Audi has just broken the sound barrier with an advanced new in-car entertainment system that offers exceptionally easy and intuitive control of iPods, MP3 players and CDs, but actually doesn’t need any of them. With its new integral hard drive, the latest Audi Multi Media Interface (MMI) is capable of storing up to 4,000 tracks internally – more than enough even for long-haul trans-continental holiday journeys. Audi develops race version of the R8

For the first time, Audi Sport will offer a racing sports car specifically developed for customer use in the form of the powerful 500 hp plus GT3 version of the Audi R8 which will be available from autumn 2009. The logistics and factory space required for the AUDI AG customer program will be created over the next few months in Ingolstadt, Neckarsulm and Györ. More

First victory of the season for Audi drivers Fässler/Pirro
Audi AG - 08/31/08
Audi drivers Marcel Fässler and Emanuele Pirro achieved their first victory in the LM P1 class of the American Le Mans Series in the city street race in Detroit (U.S. state of Michigan). After a faultless drive they finished third overall with their Audi R10 TDI. Lucas Luhr and Marc Werner retired early following an accident and, after seven consecutive victories, for the first time this year did not score any points. More

Audi wins at Brands Hatch and extends DTM lead
Audi AG - 08/31/08
At the eighth DTM round at Brands Hatch, Audi celebrated their fourth win of the 2008 season. In unstable weather conditions Timo Scheider defended an extremely narrow lead against Mercedes driver Paul di Resta on the British circuit. In front of 26,800 spectators (throughout the weekend) Timo Scheider thus extended his leadership of the standings to nine points. Mattias Ekström shone with a brilliant recovery from seventh to third place. More
