    i only say that because my worry was having a CEL and not passing inspection, i never thought about them failing it because the part was physically removed.

    The reason i want to remove all the extra lines is to reduce the area a boost leak is possible to occur. if i can leave the SAI in place and make it "look like it's all hooked up", have the ECU pass all readiness tests, and not throw any CELs then i might be back on board with this. I just don't want to end up with a car that isn't road legal come next march when i need to inspect it again.

    well take it somewhere that they won't pop your hood. don't you have ANY friends who inspect? or maybe friend of friends?

    guess maybe im just lucky down here... but i've got 5 friends who inspect, and a place where i don't know anyone but they still don't pop my hood.
