    2.8 Quattro Replacing Cam Adjuster/Tensioner

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm trying to replace my cam chain tensioner and wondering if anybody has a trick for compressing the tensioner. The write-up here says you need a special too which I'd rather not buy if I don't have to: http://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/1650707.phtml

    Anybody have any ideas?

That special tool is just a long bolt with a plastic flange at the end. You can make your own or others have found them on eBay for ~$10.

Anybody have one I can buy? I'm not seeing any on eBay either.
