This is my attempt to mod my interior. I didn't want to spend 100's of dollars so I went with this. Thanks to Shi-Fu Jay for the idea.

Thanks all for the comments. Yah this was a charcoal gray`trim, the shifter trim and ashtrays were same color as the interior. So it was pretty bland. I covered it in stretch suede. Fabric cost $7.99/yd but Jo-Ann Fabrics had a 50% off on their premium fabric, so I went and got 2 yards for the price of one. The spray adhesive by 3M was $9.00. I used blue painter's tape over the trim so when I decide sell it, I can go back to stock looking like new. That cost $4.00. Overall the cost was cheap but the outcome isn't too bad. I was pretty selective with the material and pattern I chose. Kinda wanted to keep it high-classy flashy but subtle at the same time. Pretty fun mod, u can be really creative with it.

Yeah the I sprayed over the painter's tape after laying the tape on the trims. At first I wasn't sure which way I should have the patterns go, it took me literally an hour trying to decide whether to have the patterns going horizontal, vertical, or diagonal..I'm picky like that...hehee

    Re: interior mod

I usually don't like the cloth/trim mod because it's usually an obnoxious print or a fashion statement.

I like yours though - you described it perfectly - high class yet subtle. Nice!

I don't mind at all. Go for it and post some pics.

    ^but how...with the silver trim?
If your taking about the front ashtray with the two silver trims you just have to cut around it with a very sharp razor. This is were precision counts as you wouldn't want to cut too deep into the front ashtray cover. Just take your time and do your best to go around the trims. Not very hard to do.

    Re: interior mod

ahhhh, its nice to see this cheap mod is catching on, mostly on audizine, this site is hard to show something new/different and did not cost much, but looks like the owner spent some big bucks for the custom work.
and like I said on my thread, if you dont want the fabric permanent, lay some tape over the trimming before applying the adhesive.
since mine isnt permanent I just might get another fabric style...yay. Halloween is coming up haha j/k!

Thanks. It took a good few hours total. about 30-40 mins getting the trims off (my first time). Then couple of hours laying tape on the trims, spraying the adhesive, laying the fabric, and trimming the fabric. Also, trying to get the corners and edges tight took some time. Added time would be cutting around the quattro badge, and the the two silver trims on the front ashtray cover.

how did u get the ashtray pieces off?
The front ashtray trim has got two parts to it; a bottom base part, then an upper trim cover. The upper cover slips out from the base and that's what you cover (see DIY "how to remove interior trim" for more details).
