I'm pretty sure I have the same radio as you and mine works with mp3's. I usually fit about 4-5 albums on one CD and I keep them all in separate folders that are labeled "Artist - Album." Hope that helps.

I have the same unit as in your picture (as far as I can tell) and it doesn't play mp3's.

yeah, you have the SYMPHONY II units, they do NOT SUPPORT MP3-CD's

the SYMPHONY II+ units (that started coming out in '07 models i think) DO SUPPORT MP3 CD's

the SYMPHONY II+ units do NOT have a cassette player - and instead, has a larger information display

Yeah, that looks like my old symphony II and it didn't play mp3s. I used to use that tape deck for my ghetto arse tape adapter.

the nice thing about the old symphony II is that with a simple cassette adapter you can plug in your ipod or phone or other mp3 player without a fancy kit. if that doesnt work for you then buy a nav unit.

Yeah, the tape adapter was OK, but the sound quality wasn't too good. The biggest problem is a big broadcast tower in the middle of Honolulu that's right by the gym I go to and the mall. That thing sent really loud interference through the adapter, anytime I was in the area. It would drown out the music.

Quality of life went up after I got the Alpine head unit and my sub.

So if I have a Symphony II in a '06 B7, can I swap it with a Symphony II+ with little to no problems?
