    Hey some questions about spacers

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys im pretty much a noob when it comes to this stuff and pretty anal about buying shit that i can not try out first. SOooooo my question is what size spacers do i get that will put my wheels pretty close to flush with my car. I have an 07 a4 2.0t non sline. I have the stock 5 spoke 17's. I have h and r springs and want to get the h and r spacers and i know they have to be hub centric. what will be the best size without having rubbing or vibrations and not wear out my ball mounts. Thanks for the suggestions.

Re: Hey some questions about spacers

from all of the searching that i have done on this subject (and yes you can search for your answers)

im going to say 12mm in the back, 10mm in the front is perfect and will keep you absolutly rub free...

Re: Hey some questions about spacers

yeeah it is.. but i think 15mm is a little too much.. i think it makes the wheels stick out too far.. but its still looksgood.. thats just my opinion

    i liked 10/12 the best

Re: Hey some questions about spacers

Ye i have done tons of research but i think pics make it pretty clear which looks best. Alot have said that 15 in the back is perfect and 12 in the front. Isnt 15 in the back to much and cause serious problems rapidly. I also wnat to make sure i wont pop my fenders in the front by going out to much. Please post pics of what you guys have. Pics have millions of words.

Re: Hey some questions about spacers

From what Ive seen if you really care about the look, 15 is the way to go. 12.5 will still be a bit tucked. If you're on stock suspension I have no doubt that 15 is the way to go. Since you wont be dropped, 15 will give you nicest wide stance.

Re: Hey some questions about spacers

Yea i saw all those, but some that have 10 all around look similar to the 12/15 and its due to the type of wheels im assuming. My car is lowered on h and r springs and i dont want to go to wide out that would either rub in the back or pop my fender in the front.

Re: Hey some questions about spacers

like i said previously.. 10mm front/12 mm back for your car on h&r... 15mm probably wont rub, but it might look too wide and look bad with those skinny stock tires all pushed out.. 10/12 is the best look.. it will be completly free of any rubbing, and it wont look akward and too pushed out...

Re: Hey some questions about spacers

How the heck does one get spacers taken off? I'm just worried with what to do if I get a flat. Once I stuck my spacers on this afternoon I wasnt able to just pull em out. Either way, 15 in the back on an S-Line car looks great. Anything less wouldnt really be worth doing with the 18-in titaniums I have on this car.

I rubbed with 15mm spacers in rears with my stock 17's, lowered. Not all the time but when there was a dip in the highway I'd rub. My opinion is that if you drive on relatively smooth pavement and not hauling people all the time, 15mm will be ok and look the best; don't wanna deal with rubbage go with 12-12.5 in the rear and call it the day.

Here is my car with 15mm spacers in rear only, 17's.

Should put anti-seize compound on spacers (do a search its on here somewhere). Otherwise just tap the spacer and it'll come loose.

Tap where? From what side? I put it on one of my spacers, the first one I dropped in because I just wondered how they fit and then I couldnt pull it off!

Re: Hey some questions about spacers

for someone who is lowered on H&R springs i know this personally do not go with 15MM spacer go wid a 12MM in the rear and 5MM maybe 8MM in the front because i know that the H&R go too low for my taste but i know for spacers wise anything above the numbers i just gave u will rub for sure. so just keep it at there because i know the fronts r crazy low and u will rub
