Upgrading to K04 ... not borge warner- help

Well after months of waiting, I've officially given up on getting a K04 upgrade kit for my B5. I was about to pay $700-$800 today for a brand new K03 and just call my modding quits when I found someone in CA selling K04 knock offs from china. They're going for about $950 and come with a one-year warranty.

So here's the question.

Should I buy this?

Will a Chinese knockoff work with the GIAC software I would have gotten from AWE-Tuning or other competitors.

Where can I get the gaskets and other goodies like the washers and 5 bar bosch FPR that would have come in the kit.

Word is the overseas manufacturer is HD... possibly H&D Turbo LTD

i wouldnt do it. its not worth your car. for all you know it could break the day that warranty ends. i say go with ecodetuning.com and get their k04

I believe they build & rebuild turbos: http://www.gpopshop.com/turbos.html http://www.gpopshop.com/rebuilding.html but I've read of people having trouble with the rebuilt ones, so you may need to research that.

Car is apart, need turbo asap. Instead of paying $800 for a K03, I'm buying the K03/04 turbo hybrid from gpopshop $780 with gaskets and other hardware.

You might want to try the guys at kinetic motorsport (http://www.kineticmotorsport.com/pro...er-37-141.html). They have a very good reputation and its a legit K04-15.
