I've got 119k and am chugging along at about 500-1000 miles a week. Depends on expendable cash that week . I've got slight oil consumption issues but I have yet to do a few things to try and take care of that. Only other big issues I've had is a stupid mechanic leaving my alternator not bolted up correctly, and recently I my a/c compressor went out. I've got one other issue that causes crazy vibrations throughout the entire car when I drive it hard, and it kind of comes and goes, and I have NO idea what the cause of it is. It bothers the hell out of me .

Yeah... and the worst/best part is that I don't actually go anywhere . I basically drive around in circles. I just drive when I've got nothing better to do, which is a bad thing because it breaks the bank but I love every minute of it so it's hard to stop.

I used to do that a long time ago... but gas then was less than a buck for premium! So, much cheaper back then... lol

I'll get it to 200k if someone wants to pay for my gas and food . And a radar detector... I'll just drive cross country 30 times.

Did that when I was a lot younger...hard to do now with work, wife, family, life, etc.

As it stands now, I barely drive the S4 more than one day a week - and usually only a couple miles on that day. Since December '07, I've put on about 3,000 miles.

No oil consumption issues as of yet. But I haven't really been checking. I get the oil changed at Audi every 5K. I'm not sure if thats something they would tell me about or not. I will start checking now.

How often should I check? Whats acceptable according to Audi?

I guess im in 3rd I got 94.5 k on mine and drive mine between 400 to 1000 miles a week. Been driving my raddo a lot more often due to the gas mileage.

Same here! I am at somewhere around 68k.
On long (500miles each way) trips I usually have to add 1 quart of oil.

Is it a clattering sound? If that is the case it's just the valve lifters pumping up. That's normal.

As for mileage, my mechanic has 130k on his 04' car and it runs perfectly. He's had nothing but minor issues with it. My own car is just shy of 34k, but I plan on keeping it until the wheels fall off.

I would check every month at the very least or after a very long trip.

Audi won’t do anything under warranty if your car consumes oil, even if it’s excessive.

1 quart every 1000 miles is excessive, example: a year ago GM sent out a letter to all owners with cars that are equipped with LS2 engines (C6 corvettes, 05-06 GTO’s, CTS-V) , saying something like “…check your oil every time you fill up with gas…engine damage resulting from low oil level is not covered under warranty…�
