OEM rotors off ECS tuning any good?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
My rotors are warped in the front. Dealer wants $315 for new ones. ECS has the OEMs for $100. These any good as far as quality? I don't want to get some cheap "made in China" rotors. Thanks.

ECS rotors are horrible. You get what you pay for.... try adam or just buy OEM, at least you know you will not have any issues with OEM.

I've had good luck with the OEM parts that ECS sells, such as their factory big brake upgrades with plain rotors. Their prices are pretty good too. Agreed that their "in house" quality levels aren't always great, so watch out for stuff that isn't name brand, or is modified in-house from them.

    Sorry, no way buddy..........

Rotors and pads are NOT COVERED under manufactures warranty.
That stuff falls into natural wear and tear like tires.
I NEED new front rotors and pads also as we speak. I just brought my car into the dealer for its last covered warranty and it was not covered, although I knew that already.

Re: OEM rotors off ECS tuning any good?

That's funny, they must just like me for some reason...didn't pay a cent for the whole shabang Unless it's under the Audi Care pkg....they even left me the brand new front outer pads in the passenger floor board to install because when they installed them the calipers were hitting the wheel, and they recommended getting spacers.

Re: OEM rotors off ECS tuning any good?

Please note that we sell quite a few different brands of rotors, our selection for the B7 A4 2.0T includes OP, ECS and Zimmerman.

All ECS brand rotors are Zinc Plated to help prevent rust, the OP rotors are not plated. We have had great feedback and results with our ECS rotors which can be found here:

That's great but I'm just looking for a high quality OEM rotor. I don't need slotted, zinc plated rotors.

I have to say that ECS has been a very good supplier to deal with and they stand behind what they sell and have very good customer service.

I'm trying to order rear slotted rotors from ecs tuning.

Anyone had experience with those products?

I know I work for them, but I do use ECS Tuning rotors on all corners of my car. I have slotted and drilled in the rear and they stop great. I just changed the pads right before winter and the rotors held up to my "aggressive" driving very well.

I bought a pair from ECS a while back along with hawk pads for the front. I have no complaints on their service nor products. The rotors were cross drilled and slotted and although I disagree with Chris@ECS about the stopping being "great", I do however agree that on levels of aggressive driving, they get the job done. When I first put the setup on I noticed that I had to press the brakes a little harder to stop like before. However it should make sense due to the slots and drills reducing the amount of surface space the pads have to grab. Now Chris, correct me if I am wrong but I also believe (to a limit on aggressiveness), that with the cross drilled and slotted rotors you can slap pads the next time around and maybe even the time after before buying new rotors again because of the design. If only you guys would have had them in stock when I placed the order I would have had cross drilled and slotted on hawks on all corners. . Had to settle for resurfacing the rears and slapping craptasic brakes until the fronts are ready because I didn't feel like doing all 4 at once. Not recommended to follow my genius steps for anyone reading.

Re: OEM rotors off ECS tuning any good?

I am on my second set of pads on my slotted and drilled rotors in the rear. Stopping has been great and rotor wear has been minimal. I would suspect that I should be able to put a third set of pads on before I have to surface the rear rotors. So that will end up being about 120k miles on my rears. I just crossed 110k on the rears with no issues to date. I did a full consumable check up as this weekend I just drove four people snowboarding a few states away. So at ~100k miles my rears are looking grand still.

And if it helps, I bought my rotors before I worked for ECS Tuning. They were local and I liked supporting local business, especially over a huge corp. like Autozone. I'm still happy!
