I have a question is it possible for a maf sensor to go out with then less than a year? Because when i vagged the car it says maf sensor signal to low. On my way to work today the car died on me twice. The rpm was jumping up and down and then just died. Got to work unplug the maf its idling ok. Do you guys think its the maf or a boost leak? LMK thanks

Sounds like a MAF problem, anything is possible. It could just be dirty, what kind of intake do you have? Try going to Kragen/Autozone/Pepboys/etc and buying some "MAF Cleaner" if that doesn't work, most likely the MAF is done.
Let it dry completely before plunging it back in.

Yes they would be logged in Engine block.

What kind of intake are you running? it could be possible the filter is dirty and it just dirtied up the MAF... really anything is possible. Was the MAF refurbished?

I'd say clean it first, I'd offer you mine, but I don't think the 3 hour drive is worth it

If you have a pressure tester then I would do it just in case. It's just that when you unplugged the MAF during idle and it smoothed out, I've always cleaned the MAF and it almost always helps.
It's a $3 bottle of MAF cleaner, and takes 2 Torx screw (remember to have 'security' torx bit with the hole in the middle of it for the MAF screws) and about 20 minutes clean/dry.

for sure sounds like a MAF issue and yeah, you have a 2000 like i have and we have the Bosch sensors that suck the big ass... they can go anytime.

just go stage 3, you'll get the mbox conversion and you'll have a happy life thereafter with hitachi!
