    Hey guys

What does the "Panic" button on your keys do?

Set off the alarm, lock the doors, honk the horn...?

    Re: "Panic" button

it is worthless, if you set it off its so quiet you can barely hear it standing next to your car. Not really sure of the purpose. This thing wouldnt alert anyone your car is being stolen or broken into

    Re: "Panic" button

I like to confuse people with it when at DQ. If someone parks next to me and they start opening their door, I turn on that beeping noise and the person in the other car that was opening their door usually freezes, and thinks the car detected that there is something next to the door and it's giving out a warning. It's great for cats too lol

    Re: "Panic" button

is it basically the beeping sound that it makes when you lock the car? I bet its intended more to find your car in a crowded parking lot, than to actually attract attention.

    Re: "Panic" button

I heard the semi silent alarms attract dogs, so if someone was trying to steal an audi in seconds dozens of dogs will be humping the thief all over. Is this true?

    Re: "Panic" button

To adults the frequency you hear is very quiet, because of deteriorated ear drums caused by age/loud music/poop. On the other hand the panic button will surely be fatal to any babies in range.

    Re: "Panic" button

You have a better chance of getting help if you just yell "RAPE" at the top of your lungs.

If you watch the movie Se7en, Morgan Freeman says it's more effective when in a rape situation to cry FIRE!!! Apparently, people are more inclined to dismiss someone screaming RAPE as a joke.
