gargle noise from engine bay area?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
It seems like when ever i shut off my car after driving there is a gargle noise coming from the engine bay. it lasts for about 3 or 4 seconds after i turn my car off. and it also makes that noise even when it's on...

i thought it was a normal thing until i heard a stock a4 and that thing was quiet and purring nicely...

the only engine mods i have are, an intake and also a test pipe. Any ideas on the noise and how i can fix it? (fyi coming up on 70k miles)
    thanks guys

Start watching your coolant temp/level. Mine made that noise when the coolant flange cracked. I couldn't see it leaking but it was. You coolant system is pressurized under normal circumstances and when there is a leak it causes the air to escape which causes the gurgling noise in you coolant system. But for your sake I hope it is just the intake.

Re: gargle noise from engine bay area?

Mine does the same. I just drilled my box and then the noise came to light so I am almost sure now that is what it is from. All though it could also be a coolant issue, have you bled your hard line? To the right of the coil packs there is a black metal pipe with a screw coming out the top, with the car cool, turn it on and open that screw up slowly until coolant starts to come out, then close it.
