boost cut? ABS/ brake light flashing

just got my new motor all built, got it running right for last 400 miles, smile from ear to ear after this build...driving it today and the boost seemed to cut out at anything over about 4 k depending on gear, thought it was a boost leak. So i let it cool down watched football at my buddies, on the way home i let it warm up to operating temp, and the car pulled fine, did a few pulls through each gear, everything ok. Drove casual for a while, then tried another pull and felt like the same thing, like the boost cuts out.
The part where the car drove right kinda rules out the boost leak.

also there is no cel, and the car idles great and drives great till a certain point of boost seems like.

was searching and i know my abs module is bad cause vag won't let me communicate to it and my abs light stays on and the brake light flashes. last weekend i did both rear wheel bearing and cut the abs sensor wires to the hubs, cause they wear stuck in the holes.

could the abs module/ cut sensor wires have anything to do with the boost cut/throttle cut?

or let me know what you think.

Re: boost cut? ABS/ brake light flashing

its a brand new one....but yea heres the new parts, maf, coolant temp sensor, all plugs, rebuilt motor with scat rods ( 155 psi comp +- 5% across all cylinders)....i ordered new coils from ecstuning.com and got my motor running but it was misfiring, and a cel was up the vagcom said cylinder two misfire, so changed the coil to one of my old ones and car ran fine, until now.

Did a few pulls this morning and the boost/ motor's power seems to cut at lower rpms per gear, like 5 k in 4th , ~4 k in 3rd, ~3.5k in 2nd.....still no cel.

at idle up to the cut i don't feel it misfiring like my other bad coil, but at idle the rpms with flutter the slightest little bit just so my eye can notice it and the car feel a touch rough but nothing noticable to people who don't know cars....maybe another failing coilpack? or my coilpack harness?

i don't have a vag at the moment but im going to change out my BRAND NEW (urgghh) coils with my olds ones and see what happens. idk if vag would even pick anything up cause of no code

Re: boost cut? ABS/ brake light flashing

well i just went out to my car in btw classes and changed out the coils and nothing doing there so im sure its not the coil packs unless one of the ones i put in is going bad....

since you mentioned the cts, i looked at it and noticed there was coolant on my transmission case...took a mirror and looked back there and there is coolant leaking from the flange that holds the cts to the head because one of the bolts was dripping coolant...will fix it tonight, but could this be the problem??? who knows damn audis

Re: boost cut? ABS/ brake light flashing

ohh it has a new icm also sorry i didn't mention it, so i bought the car for 2500 not running put an icm in first it started but wasn't running right, instead of doing a comp test i decided to buy a bunch of parts cts maf coilpacks plugs, then i did a comp test realized cylinder 1 didn't have any comp....

so i proceeded to rebuild it with scat rods cause i was going to anyways, got it running after the rebuild but it was misfiring...turned out to be the cylinder number 2 was misfiring, replaced the brand new coil with an old one and it has been running good for the last 500 miles, now its doing the above symptoms

Re: boost cut? ABS/ brake light flashing

i did a pull after work after letting the car warm up for 5 miles and it pulled great just past 6500rpms in 3rd and up to 6500 in 4th, 6 miles later i tried another pull and it started the symptoms again

can't get a vag till friday so i went to autozone to get the codes scanned to see if there was any because the lights not on and the reader was saying error and couldn't communicate with the ecu.....

theres is that leak at the coolant temp sensor flange that will be fixed tomorrow but i don't see how that would cause the above symptoms

Re: boost cut? ABS/ brake light flashing

Im not sure on the original problem, but if you have an aftermarket cd player and they connected one of the blue wires(cant remember which one) you wont be able to pull codes. Something about it trying to read the cd player and it cant cuz its not factory.

Re: boost cut? ABS/ brake light flashing

so i took of off the cts today, and my bently says test when engine is cold the out side temp is ~57 F which is about 13.8 C and the bently says it should have a resistance of btw about 3000 and 4000 and im get ing a resistance of ~1830 ohms....

this could be my potential problem...correct
little bit of wierd idle and cut out only when she get totally hot?

Same issue on my car including the gas smell inside the car. I noticed the smell only happens when you pull the car hard.

Re: boost cut? ABS/ brake light flashing

mine happens at cruising speed with teh front windows down, if i open the trunk i smell gas in there...im pretty sure its the seal around the fuel pump, its located in the trunk, you can pull up the floor mat back there and check it out....someone said if theres gas around the fuel pump then the seal is bad which would make sense but would this cause my car to do the funny things its doing? idk

Re: boost cut? ABS/ brake light flashing

i went to autozone and got a scan after i replaced the cd player with the stock radio...still no cel but the code that came back was cat below efficiency.

i wonder if that leak at the fuel pump seal will make the pressure drop inside the tank, i will check out the seal tonight and let you know

Re: boost cut? ABS/ brake light flashing

well the coolant leak only come when the car is revved up ie the coolant pressure goes up, and it leak from the bottom bolt on the CTS flange, i have a new gasket but wont have time to install until the weekend....could this be the problem?
