Just finished getting rid of all the vacuum lines and whatnot and now I am misfirng like a champ. I would normally say, oh its a coilpack, but I first threw a Cylinder 1 Misfire, so I put that coilpack in Cylinder 2, expecting to see a Cylinder 2 Misfire....but then it said Cylider 3 Misfire....What gives?

    What do you guys think?

EDIT* I did some searching and came up with that maybe I have a bad MAF, so I tried unplugging it and then keeping it at 2500RPM for like 30 seconds, to see if that would stop the misfires, and that did NOT do it.....what else?

EDIT 2* Even when i do the coilpac test....everytime I unplug a connector the engine stays the same (sound wise)

I guess that is what it would seem, but I have routed everything (which isnt much) accoriding to the diagrams and dicussions I have had.

I am completely dumbfounded right now about what it could be....I am also trying to study for my damn pyschology exam at 7am

LOL, ok first of all lesson 1 learned, dont work on your car when you have a psychology exam at 7am the next morning.... im sorry really i am, i just found that hilarious. Ok now on to the serious part, you got a big vacumn leak it sounds like running that engine lean, where are your CF's at, that will let you know if your running lean and getting a lean misfire, it sure sounds like you are, i would go through and check all the routing of vacumn lines and make sure there are no open lines coming off the manifold, did you have to remove the manifold to fix that pcv issue, if so make sure you dont have any leaks around there , it may be too late but a can of carb clean can be a great diagnostic tool, spray that around the engine and when it starts to run real rough or stall, spray some more in that spot again and duplicate the situation, then you have an area to look for, if you removed the intake manifold spray around the manifold to see if the manifold is not sealed properly. best of luck.

oh dude! ok just went over your other thread you had going and saw you made a just straight pass throgh for your pcv valve, that is no good! a really good way to think about pcv system is a metered vacuum leak to allow the crank case to breath, im willing to bet that is your problem, get an actual pcv valve in there and i think you will be good to go, stop racking your brain on this, get a ride to school in the morning and cram for your exam, again... best of luck.

You have the N112 and N249 plugged in? From the codes, if the N112 is unplugged, thats your problem. Just plug it into the harness and you should be good.

n249 not so much. but n112 very important. if n112 is not plugged in then adaptation will not occur.

btw. you need to find a crack for your 409 vagcom. :p

ecu adaptation. fuel trims and such. unless your tune is just that good that it doesnt need to adapt. :p you can have the valve plugged in electronically or a resistor installed in its place. either one.

that has been my experience with it. not saying it will cause direct misfires if completely removed. but i can see it causing some issues. ive never heard of a car running well with that valve totally removed from the loop.

Re: *URGENT* Misfiring like a champ and I have school at 7 in the morning!!

Thanks shawn....at 5 in the morning today, i was going over all my vacuum lines (which thankfully arent that many, lol) and over the whole PCV system.....I ended up just driving to school.

Car was acting REAL wierd. It would have crappy idle at 800RPM, so I guess the computer would bump the idle up to 1100 to smooth out the misfires, but then it would ever slowly raise the RPM's all the way up to 2500. Furthermore, my coolant light was randomly beeping/showing, yet the coolant level is full....

Anyways, just got back from some of my classes, so I'll go plug in the N112 to see if it makes any difference, but I am with Clint, I thought I could have both the N112 and N249 unplugged with no ill side affects.

Kompressed, how about hooking a brother up with the crack? [:P]

post up if it makes a difference. all my experience has been that valve has to be plugged in electronically for the ecu to be happy.

this is a public forum. ;) i cant post things like that.

I am about to go back outside and clear the codes in a second......

Can I reset the ECU via vagcom, how? Or do the old disconnect battery trick?

Re: *URGENT* Misfiring like a champ and I have school at 7 in the morning!!

Just cleared the codes, and I am still idle/misfiring like crazy...plugging in the two N-valve definetly changed the car abit....but not necessarily for the better.

Here are two vid of what is sounds/looks like

First vid: (Exhaust sounds like the car is cammed, lol.....and the car is shaking like one too - at the end of vid, I show the N-valves)

Second (notice the idel RIGHT when i turn the car on, it just drop and sounds like the engine is abou to die)

Re: *URGENT* Misfiring like a champ and I have school at 7 in the morning!!

Well guys, I found the problem and the car runs great, lol

    NEWB mistake on my part

I guess in the excitment of getting of all the vacuum lines off, I had not seen the port on the bottom of the intake manifold (i have a 2002, so the intake mani ports are slightly different). To add insult to injury, this morning i went to spray the intake mani with carb cleaner, to see/hear if therre was a vac leak, but the can was empty, lol. Furthermore, I even ran my hands up and down each runner and the actual intake manifold to "feel" if I had left a port unplugged, but felt nothing. After going over my vacuum diagrams, i saw the port I missed.....

I am going to blame it on the fact that I had an exam this morning and that i got 3 hours sleep

    Thanks again guys
