Im running a T28 with 2.5". I think that the turbo would spool quicker with 2.25. I also got my piping from CXracing

i am doing the same thing....right now I am just running the K03s but am planning on upgrading to a 2871r elim when this turbo gives up. What size pipe would you suggest in that case?

FYI it might be a little while before the turbo gives up on me.

Awesome thanks for the advice, I noticed a lot of the ebay kits say you need to weld in a flange for some sensor? What exactly do I need to weld in and for what?

that is for the MAP sensor which only comes in 2000 models and up. if you are AEB engine code, 97-99, you dont have to worry about that.

    Re: Ebay Intercooler Piping Kit

i bought a $78 2.5" ebay kit. had more than enough pipe and couplers. just needed to get a map sensor flange (ebay-$20 shipped) and a 2-2.5" reducer to go from the pipe to turbo outlet. works great so far. just make sure you get t-bolt clamps if the it comes w/ the shitty ass worm gear ones.. they will hold all of about 5psi... if u'r lucky...
<--------yes, i used my audi to drag my deer out of the woods. it was heavy, i was cold, car had heat, much less work, and frankly, it was far. the deer was big, i am not, just seemed like the right thing to do. if it werent for the apr2+ i may not have been able to pull that monstrosity out of the woods w/out a helicoptor. i cant afford a helicoptor, i have a hard enough time affording my audi. all this being said, yes. that is an apr2+ awd audi pulling a deer out of the woods.

    Re: Ebay Intercooler Piping Kit

Be carefull when buying from ebay becouse there are two types of piping ,some sellers offer 1.5 mm thickness piping which is cheap and the others 2mm. It's better to buy 2mm piping if you gonna make welding job.

    Re: Ebay Intercooler Piping Kit

I am looking at this kit here.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FRONT...QQcmdZViewItem

I dont see any listing of what size the piping is, but it comes with the map sensor flange it just needs to be welded in which I can take care of.

How much of a difference would it make if the whole thing were done in 2.5 rather than 2.25? Would it just increase the turbo lag?

    Re: Ebay Intercooler Piping Kit

Do whatever size you want but 2.5" is completely unnecessary and will just hurt the setup, not literally.. Just as far as lag/psi goes. 2.5" piping is what should be used on a larger turbo IE:3071 ect..

Yes you will have turbo lag because it is more volume that needs to be compressed.

    Re: Ebay Intercooler Piping Kit

i use 2.5" w/ my k03... only noticeable dif is the increase in power from the fmic. no noticeable in lag or spool time.. might be worth a tenth at the strip, but nothing to worry about

Yeah i am just going to go with the 2.25 as it appears from the responses that there is no need for 2.5 and if anything it would hurt the performance some. I can get everything, piping and the intercooler on ebay from Just-Intercoolers for like 200 bucks.

I was actually in the market for a FMIC and found this post in ebay.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CXRac...spagenameZWD1V

It's a Cxracing FMIC that I've been reading around the forum here. I made him an offer for $150 + $47 shipping. It pretty much equals out to $197. Which is what you are looking for. He gladly took my offer and bought I it that night.

To me it looks like it's good quality and if at all, close to the Godspeed core. I'll try to post up my setup once I get this thing and find time to install it.
