Re: Will removing my SAI system hurt my engine?

the SAI system works when you first start up the car. It puts more oxygen into the exhaust system so the catalyst will "light off" or come up to temp more quickly. Removing the SAI system will not damage anything. It will turn on your check engine light as it will not see proper SAI flow.

Some of the tuning companies offer SAI delete files with their flash tunes.

The B5 doesnt have SAI does it . I have a AEB head for my B6 and there is no SAI port on the back of the head where the block off plate would go like on the B6. And no it doesnt hurt anything to take it off, it is just emissions crap.

the aeb doesnt require the SAI, they made the car to pass emissions without it.. the 2000 needs the SAI to pass emissions

Re: Will removing my SAI system hurt my engine?

If SAI is factory installed then you must have it to pass E-Checks. AEB's were able to pass with out, whether or not the standards changed in that time I don't know.

AEB's FTW, we get the good head.
