My xenon headlight intermittently turns off, then back on.

[3.0L AUDI A4]

I have a 2005 A4 1.8T USP. When I get into the car at night, both xenon lights are on, I start driving... couple minutes later, I see the passenger side headlight turn off, the bulb out warning comes on "dipped right headlight" then shows a O with an X in it (bulb out), then the xenon light will come back on eventually. Sometimes it will flicker a few times, sometimes it will be once. regardless, this is a huge problem that I have! What should I do?

I had my friend drive my car and I drove in front of it in another car at night to see what it looks like, it looks like its winking at me lol

Check your ballasts. When ballasts reach their end of life, they start cycling -- that could explain the flickering that you are seeing.

Check the bulbs first (swap left and right) to identify if it's a bad bulb or a bad ballast. Mostly it's the bulb only.

Ok I had same problem, and jumped to conclusions and bought bulbs. It ended up being one of the wire/connectors going to the ballast. SO take it apart and jiggle wires, etc around.

OEM, NO change in color. I will try swapping each side and see what that does... If anything, I guess I will need to buy a bulb.. or ballast.. Wish me luck!. LowestA4, If I need a bulb, I will let u know. Thanks for the PM

I switched the bulb sides and the bulb is broken not the ballast.
