    Looking good

How are you planning to color match the bumper lenses? (just paint or do other stuff first?).
Also are you gonna paint the rear bumper side lenses too?

i just ordered some touch up paint in a spray can from automotive touch up. i got my exact color oem match ibis white. and i also bought a clearcoat from them as well to get that shine. yes im going to be painting the front lenses and the backs as well. it'll give the car a cleaner look in my opinion

we did the lights by baking them in the over. i think we did it at 170 degrees for 5 minutes. and then you just pull the headlight apart straight out and try not to get silicone on the inner housing. its worth it. completely changes the front end.

thanks for the comments so far...keep em coming

Car looks great Matt! Which wheels did you end up going with?

I wish someone near me could help me do this mod. I dont want to do it solo.

I'm planning on doing my CC mod this weekend. Looking into the Chrome/Amber bulbs to put in there when I do the CC...anyone have suggestions on some good ones?

    Bump on any good bulbs?

Also... I know this might be taboo in this forum because Phil is so widely revered for his work on headlight stuff... BUT... Is there any real reason to use the clear caps to replace the orange caps? What I'm wondering is, wouldn't it pretty much look the same without any cap? I saw a B7 RS4 in front of my office the other day and went out to look at the headlights because it had the clear turn signals. There wasn't any sort of lens over the bulb. Wondering the pros/cons of using the clear lens vs not using it.

    Thanks!

    Bulb (21W/12V, Chrome)

The clear corner mod on the B7 A4 completely changes the front end of your vehicle. However, it leaves a clear bulb that does not give off an amber turn signal. Replace your 1156 bulb with this Genuine OEM Stealth Bulb. Some modification required, one tab must be filed off to work. Bulb appears silver in appearance and only lights up yellow when the filament is energized.

    Thanks for the reply

    That looks pretty orange still...

But my other question also, what are the pros/cons of replacing the amber lens cover with a clear one (and using a stealth bulb, of course) vs just removing the amber lens cover and using a stealth bulb?

they look orange because of the lighting in the photo studio that we use... they are the same ones Phil recommends with the clear corner cap. They light up orange but have a chrome housing. I have Phils lenses on my B7 with these exact bulbs and they look great... you can't beat OEM.

The difference is all cosmetic... however having the lense in place looks MUCH better then having the orange lense simply removed. When I first did the clear corner DIY I thought it looked ok... until I put a set of these lenses on... makes a world of a difference.

You might also consider "euro mod" using VAG COM so that your corners only work as turn signals, i.e., no amber corner lights.

Am I the only one around here who's an amber fan? I run amber bulbs for my DRL.

I understand the clean look but I also love the contrast that it provides. Hell I even purposely replaced my clear fender repeaters with B6 Passat amber fender repeaters for my GLI!
