Removing the fold down utility (cd changer) door

Anyone done this or know how to remove that door without ripping it apart? I added a fiberglass sub I made to go behind that door but the door won't close and the sub needs a lot of clearance. I want to either leave the door off, or make a grill that allows more space of the sub. Both options require that door to be removed. However, it looks as if the door is crosss-sectioned with that entire side panel. Has anyone removed theirs damage free where it can be re-installed later?

Re: Removing the fold down utility (cd changer) door

I don't have a CD changer, but there's a tray inside, I assumed it was for a changer.

It's the right side drop down door inside the trunk. I want to remove just the door from that side panel. It seems to be some type of hinge, but I want to not destroy it if possible. I installed a subwoofer behind that door, but for now I leave the door open, laying down on the floor of the trunk. I'd like to remove the door and fiberglass a mold of it so I can make a pop off grill or just leave the woofer exposed.

I see, I was confused as well. I was thinking about a speaker in your dash! If you take out the trunk lining on that side you should be able to get it out.

I used a flat head screw driver and slowly pried it off with good results.

A screwdriver underneath near the hinge? It looks like it's intertwined. But I'll give that a shot this weekend, thanks.

umm if you mean that small retangular box where the satellite receiver goes.. then just put a screwdriver underneath the tabs and pull out. if you want to remove the entire plastic part behind that door... then you have to remove the carpet around it and theres four screws that holds it in place. search of a diy on satellite module install.. theres one floating around somewhere..
