B8 A4 in Car & Driver 10 Best?

Car & Driver magazine is doing evaluations this weekend for their annual "10 Best" article, due in the January 2009 issue.

The B8 A4 3.2 is among the cars in the lineup, and it looked pretty good in red. Based on the rest of the field, I'm guessing the A4 will make the list. I took some photos of the lineup, which you can see here:

I think it will make it. there is a difference between 10best and CotY. I don't see why it won't beat out at least all but 9 cars....

I wish . . . my office is about a 1/4 mile from their office, and I have met some of the guys who work there. Yes, I asked them which testicle they had to surrender as a condition of employment...

I found out about the 10 Best event earlier this week when I dropped by the office. There was a high-end auto carrier pulling out of their complex, so I figured it might have dropped off something sweet. I was wrong. I pulled in and asked one of the guys what the truck brought in; he said it picked up a Bugatti Veyron they had just finished testing at the proving grounds!

His consolation was to advise me about this weekend's activity. I dropped by earlier Friday on my lunch break and they had a silver Nissan GT-R there with gun metal wheels (looked awesome), but I didn't have my camera with me. They ended up sending it back that afternoon because there were no comparable cars for the story, so I didn't get photos of it. Other cars I didn't get pics of (because they took them home overnight) were a black S8, a burgundy Jag XF, a burgundy Jag XK, a gray M3, a gray SL 550, and a gray CL63 AMG. Oh - and Csaba drove home in a green GL320 CDI.
