Cam position sensor sends a signal to the ECU. The ECU translates that and sends a signal to the Ignition control module(aka Ignition amp or igniter). There should be two connectors on that ICM. The connector that is an input has the 5 wires, the outpus is the 4 wire.

The ICM is mounted on top of the airbox on the aluminum heatsink.

Are you trying to disable the ignition for a security system?

The ecu bases all timing decisions off the crank angle sensor. The cam sensor lets it know which cylinder is #1. It does more on the late cars, but still the actual timing is based off the crank sensor.

There is a square wave signal which goes to the ignition coil or the ignitor on top of the air box, depending on your year. That actually fires the coil.
