just for fun lets build a 3liter and try for a budget of $5,000. lets see what we can do and what gains are made.

    part list:

    AWE LWFW/clutch combo-$1,200-$1,800 instl.
    Stasis cntr-diff-chng 4/1 88%rearbias12%front-$550-$770 instl.
    3.0 King downpipes-$900DIY
    Milltek resonated cat-back exhst-$900DIY
    GIAC chip-$200DIY
    Shortshifter-$200DIY
    Stasis Coilovers$900DIY

over budget by $670, it is what it is.
Thats $5,760 dollars on a build that gains you what? Well the car will feel like its on rails and the power made by the chip, dp's, exhst, LWFW should bring a solid 25-35hp increase. that puts the car right around 250chp not bad and you know the car will be solid and sound amazing. who's first...lol

To anyone that has not heard a 3.0 with 3.0 King's downpipes and a Milltek exhaust, it sounds absolutely amazing. I couldn't believe it was a Milltek when I heard Craig's car.

    Re: 3liter fun!

why didnt you DIY on the clutch/differential? that differential install is super easy! i love how it makes the car handle... we have same suspension and diff mod... you are right, the car does handle like its on rails, i can do things other people dont even think are possible in a car!

    Re: 3liter fun!

i'd do more of the DIY, do a magnaflow system to say some money, throw on some used h-sport sways found on AZine classifieds, then i'd do a ram air intake (more throttle resp).

sell OE wheels, buy lighter 18" wheels, and get some good 245" rubber.

but the rest looks good to me!

Sorry brain fart, I meant to say velocity stacked intake. Either way, I still got much better throttle resp from it.

I did it this way: Get a stack, filter, and a silicon reducer, ohh and 2 clamps : )

FWIW, I left the OE air tunnel in place.

I have a stack on my audi, i'd have one on the porsche too, but it won't fit, its too big. My brother has one on his 1.8t GTi, and my parents on their ML55.

    Re: 3liter fun!

first, never waste money on GIAC file because it costs around $500. the gain is in single digit so go figure. you do get better throttle response and no more speed governer.

more of the 3.0 owners should step up the game to fight against the 1.8T Bt/BAT/BAMFT guys.

if any of you wants to do the built Torque Converter and Valve Body, let me know. they need to be done at the same time.

The breather ws from a local auto parts place, under $10. it fits on the OE hose.

and yeah, I know, its filthy. I'll get it cleaned soon. that and I've been way too lazy, and have not made a heat shield, although literally once in motion, the air isn't any hotter than w/ a stock airbox. (i've VAG logged it)

its way up high, so not a big rain prob. its no more an issue than stock, I use the OE factory "air tunnel" i forget the name of that thing right now.
