    Post Motor pull, Turbo questions

I need some expert opinions on what turbos I should put back in my s4. Kkk's seem to be unreliable at best and a custom setup seems really expensive, so I would like a good reliable turbo that will only need small modifications. I am not looking to get more power, just don't want to be pulling the motor again. The car already has apr bi-pipe, 510n's and apr loaded chip. Thanks!

    Re: Motor pull, Turbo questions

if you want reliability and decent power go with Stage 3-..... K04s aren't the bombs that they are mostly described as on the forum there are just those wanting more than the K04s can make maxed out... They are deff. more reliable than the stock K03 especially when installed correctly (drain plug removed/priming at startup first time, etc)

yeah, I've been looking into K04's, but I would like instead to get away from kkk altogether. Besides I want ballbearing turbos.

your looking for a replacement turbo other than borg warner and only deliver what a stage 2 chip can throw at it with alot better reliabilties than a k03? dude you will get bored so fast its not even funny lol i dont think anyone has tried this...and on top of it not much modification? i say atleat go stage 3 - like mike said, the turbos arent pushed hard and can last a long time with drivers help such as proper warm up and cool down

    Re: Motor pull, Turbo questions

OK, so I don't know much about turbos from experience. But from
what I have read on here and other forums stage 3 sounds expensive. I bought this car cheap, with passenger side turbo blown. I had oringinaly thought I would just replace turbo with another K03, and sell for a bit of profit. I don't however want to sell some one a car that is going to be back in the shop in the near future. IMO this car needs to be a bit more idiot proof (I'll explain what I mean if you want me to...later). K04s with larger piping are an option if I don't have to get bigger injectors, etc. Ideally a gt setup e.g. 2560s would be great, but it dozent seem like I can do that for under $2500. Anyway I'm not interested in having/building the fastest S4 on my "block". I simply want a reliable setup. Thanks for the input guys, and keep it coming! Btw sorry if this post looks like crap, it's from my phone.

    Re: Motor pull, Turbo questions

most of the time the turbo's being "unreliable" comes down to the car its on. boost leaks and vacuum leaks, not changing oil, and shitty maintenance kills borg turbos. everyone rags on them for popping but its just not true saying they are unreliable.
my k03's lasted 130k miles and my jetta's k03S has 107 on it .knock on wood.
