Center console cupholder broken!

Center console cupholder broken in my wifes A6...it will not stay closed!!! Nothing "Broke" do these things wear out and how would you replace it??

Mine did too, I just forced it shut with some wiggling and used the one above the radio

I just put that 60 piece of Excel Gum cup in there. It keeps it safe

lol...all great suggestions, but has anyone FIXED the %^&*%$ cup holder?

SOmetimes they get gunked up with residue from drinks. Even tough you might not think you spill...you do. I took mine out and sprayed it down with some various cleaners. concentrating on the track itself a lot. Then I sprayed it down wih some Jig-A Loo lube and it was good as new. I might try that. The locking mechanism might be gunky.

Worst case you can buy one usually for like $60-70.

mine stay open too and my son knocked it and broke it.
is there anything else that goes in there besides cup folder?

all 4 of my cupholders are broken... lifetime expectancy is maybe... eh 8 years? =)

if you get a OEM navigation unit the navigation controller goes there.

Sounds like an Audi to me, owned one back in the eighties and stupied stuff would brake all the time, Different times same old audi , before i bought my a6 i had thought they improved a lot. sorry about the rant, but cars broken again.,cup holders, door compartment, second set of turbos pos in shop right now? car only has 70,000.
