    question about adams rotors

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So i bought the rotors about a week ago and should get them anyday now. i have a stock b6 1.8t, and when i asked adam if simply swapping the rotors, if i would see a braking improvement and he said yes.

any idea if i will infact feel a difference, or is just for looks?

basically my question is what is the difference btwn his rotors and the oem once other than the looks. performance wise is my question

    Re: question about adams rotors

IMO if the rotor are not slotted it's not really an upgrade...Pads have better chance to improve braking...

Which rotors did u get? slotted/drilles/plain?
With good pads and slotted rotors/or drilles you will notice the improvement.

    Re: question about adams rotors

I have the slotted and dimpled and I can't tell you if there was a difference because I upgraded to B6 S4 brakes so I would have felt a difference regardless. You will feel a difference though and also they may be a little louder than you are used to. Some people says it goes away but I highly doubt it, my noise is still there.

    Re: question about adams rotors

i doubt you will feel much unless you are a very experienced driver. slotted will have more resistance to fade....... pads will change the feel the most along with stainless steel lines and good fluid

    Re: question about adams rotors

what do you think I was lieing to you bud?
did we do slots? I don't recall...

as posted slots have a performance benfit by keeping the units cool under hard braking.
dimples/drill are purley looks which is why I like the combo.
now pair that with a good premium set of pads and youll notice better bite and more endurance in your system...

    enjoy em

    Re: question about adams rotors

i noticed barely any difference when switching to slotted/drilled rotors and posi quiet pads, and i'm sure just that small difference can be attributed to the pads.
so i would say that they are mainly just for looks until you start getting into big brake kits and then the slots and holes become more functional

    Re: question about adams rotors

with that said...no this won't be a BBK, of even an OEM+ b5s4 upgrade as were not increasing diameter or amount of caliper piston.
but this application with pads and even adding ss lines and some motul will undoubtably change the feel and help w/track use. the bite will be there, but this change will be mild...again these aren't brembos.

    Re: question about adams rotors

i will agree with that, but the OP mentioned only changing the rotors, while leaving lines, pads and fluid stock.
so i will stand by what i said that there will be no noticeable difference
