    Remus exhaust review

    Note: to each their own.

Ok, i just installed this thing 20 mins ago and I don't like it already, well, lets just say that it's not for me.

the exhaust it self looks amazing, quality was top notch, and everything went in smoothly, as you would expect form a german company. my only complaint is in the sound department. the thing sounds great, BUT its just too quiet for my taste... its so quiet, that i woulndt even bother putting a video/sound clip up.

maybe i'll give it a couple more days...

maybe i can bypass the resonator...

anyone else have experience with them?

btw, this exhaust came from a CVT and slapped on my fwd manual with no hitch

    Re: Remus exhaust review

Remus sounds much better with out the center resonator

"Sport Label" is their quietest line though FYI, they also make a "Wild label" and then there's "Romulus" kits... probably not readily available in the US though, since they packed their bags

    Re: Remus exhaust review

i'd be very interested to hear how quiet this exhaust is. i really dont want an exhaust that is louder than stock, and this seems to be the perfect solution.

either this or i heard milltek is pretty quiet as well...

    Re: Remus exhaust review

What u could do is remove the resonator(s) and run a smaller bullet style one like mine which is only a foot in length and it should be perfect.

This system sounds perfect for you. it has a rumble lower than stock, but really low profile.

Noticed that the REMUS brand name is carved in the top side. is there a hole on the bottom of the tip to let out any water that might go in through there?

    Looks sexy for sure though!

    Re: Remus exhaust review

Well I would remove a resonater as everyone states... but it should get louder and deeper after a few weeks depending on how much you drive...

My Milltek was super quiet when I put it on... now it's perfect.

i'm going to try this out, but instead of hacking my beautiful exhaust, i'll have a mid pipe constructed with a y-pipe reducer to link the mufflers to the mid-pipe. im thinking of using the old stock v-band sleeve and the muffler's v-band clamps to couple everything together. it should cost no more than $100 bucks

what's the deal with the link to some SOCOM Navy seal video?? I love the sound of your exhaust, you need to put the link up for that. One of the best i've heard on here.

    Re: Remus exhaust review

    Hey,

I put Remus exhaust on my 2003 3.0 6spd. At first I didn't like it because it was too quiet. But after I removed the resonator, I really like it. It's not obnoxiously loud nor is it too quiet, but you can definitely hear the nice tone when you're on the throttle. So my final take is...with the resonator, you won't like it if you want something audible...but without the resonator, you might like it. A muffler shop should only charge you $50 to remove/put on the resonator so it's a cheap experiment...

    Re: Remus exhaust review

if you think remus is too quiet, it doesnt matter what exhaust you choose, it will be too quiet if you just change the mufflers. Either remove the centre resonator, or install a tp. or even better, do both! is the sweetes move i ever did!
