resonator removed now rattling

A month ago i had magnaflows 14851s installed and it sounds great but i wanted more so i had my resonator removed. Now when i speed up fast and hit around 3000 rpms it starts rattling. is this normal? cause it annoys hell out of me!

no it isn't normal... you may need to check your exhaust hangers to see if they are all intact.

3.0 or 1.8T? I ask b/c on my 3.0 when I removed resonators it sounded like something was rattling, but was just weird raspiness. also only happened right around 2800-3000 RPM.

yes my 3.0 also had that raspiness when i removed the resonators but i put some in and its not as much there , but still is (makes the car sound cheap). It seems to me that it must be coming from around the area of the cats (noises here and there, the joy of having 100k + miles on your , but stil pulling strong!)

3.0l. damn ur right, it does have that raspiness, and its not the hangers just got it checked. They had me sit in the car while they raised it and had me spending my money on gas revving. I guess i have to live it for now unless u throw me some options

Oh man that sucks.. sorry to throw out the wrong answer. I hope you didn't have to pay for the lift, I would of just jacked her up and took a peak. Good luck...

i know the exact sound you are talking about. i have that problem too but is usually just when the car is cold. i have the same magnaflow mufflers and was considering removing or replacing the resonators for more sound but i didnt want it to sound like a cheap ricer. have you looked into any of the magnaflow resonators?
