dayum, looks like a sick product and it's a great idea...

but that is PRICEY. (atleast compared to our other motor/tranny mounts)

oh well, i know im gonna buy one eventually anyways hahaha - so i guess i better not complain (and its not like its any more expensive than anything else on my car)

I haven't looked at the differential mounting system of my cars yet so I have a question. Is there more than one mount and this is a kit replacing all of them - which is the logical conclusion considering the price of the upgrade, or is this a single mount?

I imagine that it is the prior. Could you please enlighten us?

Re: Apikol Rear Diff Mount Now Available!

Interesting - it's designed to "cure the dreaded 'clunk'" from shifting. That's the same thing the snub is designed to do. So does this make it even less clunky? My Apikol snub pretty much got rid of that.

Do you have a picture of the OEM to see the difference?

This discussion in this thread is in regards to the rear differential out back. Not the transmission itself.

I'll get some photos of the B6 rear differential tonight. My car is going on my friend's lift so I'll be able to snap a few good photos. EDIT: fcvk. It'll be shitty iPhone photos since my digi cam isn't in my car with me.

It'd be nice to see a video of a before and after undercage shot, to see if the rear diff moves less.

Re: Apikol Rear Diff Mount Now Available!

I just jacked up my car and snapped a quick pic with my cell.

I have almost 103Kmiles on my car and the mount "looked and felt" perfectly fine. It actually had the same feel to it has the stock sunb has, but since it is not subjected to engine bay temps, it was not crumbling or anything.

It seems all you would have to do to install is is lower the exhuast via the rear hangars (similiar when installing a RS4 swaybar) and then just unblosting the 3 hexbolts and the one nut on the bolt and then sliding the bolt out to remove the mount.

Pic was taken facing the front of the car on the drivers side.

It is more of a part for guys who launch their cars a lot and tend to wear parts like this out or just want the crisper feel. They are a hot selling item for the B5 chassis. With age and more guys making big HP there will be a bigger demand as time goes on.

This is how the B5 A4s were. Some people beat on theirs and the mounts lasted and some they went and clunked and others just wanted to upgrade for a firmer feel in the rear.

I think the climate and temps play a big part as well.

It was funny how I heard about this product. I emailed Apikol asking them if they had plans on making one, since they had a B5 unit already. There response was "coming soon, already on it" So here it is.
