Would it be worth it to finance

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So i had my b5 for about 2 weeks then a buddy of mine decided without a licence he was going to drive his moms car, a chrysler concord one of those huge f*ckers. He hit me doing a 140kmh, we spun out and ended up in somebodys front yard/half in his garage. My car was a write off, and i got about 9grand for it, but me being the drunky 18 year old i am, spent all of it on booze and bars this summer lol. So im thinking by the time next summer comes around im gonna save some cash, and make a decent down payment and then get a loan from a bank or maybe finance through a stealership, do you guys think its worth it, im thinking a 2005 USP if i can find one and i will pay for extra warrenty. So im just wondering would it be worth it to you guys, like what kind of mods could i do, so that it wouldnt void my warrenty?

Re: Would it be worth it to finance

I didnt know he was driving, i was out with a friend and he called me and asked where i was, and i was at 7 11 getting a slurpee and told him to walk to the field by our house and id meet him there he said okay. So turns out we meet half way in a front lawn/garage of a house half mile away from the field. Funny how things turn out, i can laugh about it now i wasnt to please then but life goes on. Well i only have had my credit card for a month so thats another reason im going to hold off till about the end of may next year to try to finance it.

when people finance anyone they are looking for someone with a credit history of at least 6 years, so u are gonna need a cosigner that has consistently good credit for the last 6 years.

That is not true... my credit history was only about 3.5 years old when I toted the note through Audi. I had a great job though which offset that 6 year thing.

Huge load of horse caca. I financed my first car when I was 20 with less than a year of credit history and the only thing I had oon my credit was a dell computer that I paid off in one payment (when i saw the interest rate on the account I said screw the payments) and a $500 credit card

In your situation I'd just buy whatever I could afford with no loans. We all were reckless at a young age and you don't want to worry about damaging another car that's already streching your finances. Live within your means FTW. Good luck with whatever you get.

Re: Would it be worth it to finance

    Yes and no kinda
They are upstairs i have basement suite so they dont bother me that much
and i dont pay shit for it, im an only child, but oh well they make me work for everything else besides rent so doesnt bother me. I am going to school to get a degree in buisness marketing but that is also paid for by the lovely grandparents. So im really thinking just saving for a down payment then and financing.

Re: Would it be worth it to finance

I am 20 and I financed my car a few months ago and got a 5.9% interest rate on a 48 mo amortization schedule... I had credit cards for a solid 2.5 years, including a chase card and an AMEX card. I started with 1k limit on my chase like 2 weeks after I turned 18 and when I got my AMEX card a when I was 19 I was given a 2500 limit which is now 5k... The best thing I can tell you to do is use your card, but use it wisely. I have learned, credit bureaus consider people safe with debt to availability (credit used/available limit) of 40% and below. So if your limit is now 300 I would stay under $150, closer to $120. It's tough to say though because the limit is so low, so this theory would work much better if you had a higher availability... Which you will eventually. Also, your monthly income is very important. You may have a great credit score later on but make little money, which might result in a bank having issues financing too much money to you, with out sky rocketing the interest rate. Sorry if that was long and drawn out. I think you get the point lol. GL

I might call it being 18 and the legal age here is 18, so in turn why not abuse it.

Because I like my liver. The summer after I turned 21 I went out every night from Thursday-Sunday and some other nights depending on what was going on and I didn't spend 9 grand. That was reckless, did you at least travel somewhere, like overseas to spend some of that money. Please tell me you did... then at least part of the money went to something useful. Just don't tell me you were that guy in the bar/club handing out drinks to everyone on your tab like it was your job

^^see the point i think he's trying to make is that no one is telling u not to enjoy ur life, no one, but if u wanna keep enjoying it live it wisely to make the best out of it sure we wanna tear it up, but remember every bottle of vodka u drink 1 year of ur life is taken away lol, ok not really but think like that. Live it wisely and try to be as healthy as possible for as long as possible, we're not saying become a vegetarian basically everything in limits

That being said im not one to really care yet i guess, i am somewhat young still and still have that mind that im indesrtructable. Im sure it will catch up with me, but for what its worth i havnt drank in a month so im making pretty good progress.
