I cant believe I painted my new front Euro licence filler plate frame.

It came out great. My dealer ordered me a new flat black euro filler plate as part of my deal because PA. doesnt require a front plate and the car already had the dreaded front frame drilled on it.
I used 5 coats of Duplicolor "metalic silver" and 6 coats Duplicolor Top coat. I buffed color and top coat with polishing glaze. It looks like a pro job. It has debth and clarity. I cant believe paint in a spray can could come out so well. The paint matches oem 99.9%

in case dupli color doesn't make your clor, you can get paint in a spray can that matches your paint code from paintscratch.com. it matches very well, but it's about $25 a can. just an FYI. the dupli color looks pretty darn good.

Its the typical silver shadow/light angle effect in the pic. In sun light it looks dead balls on. I have seen worse color matches from body shops. I was really impressed with how close Duplicolors "metallic silver" matches Audis paint. The total project was under $10. For trim pieces, wheels, or chipped up lower rocker panels, it would be perfect to use. I was very impressed with the amount of gloss and depth I got from the clear coat.

very impressive! Silver is hard to match, that came out very well. The true test is to use a flash at night and see how well it matches. To the human eye, Im sure in person it looks fantastic. Great work!

I'm looking for the Duplicolor ID # you used here? I am doing the same thing and Duplicolor makes a few different silvers. Anyone know the answer here?

I just ordered one too because mine has four nice screw holes in it. I plan on doing the same thing, but the shop is going to paint it. Definitely looks clean, well done.
