My clutch is teh stinkys!

So last night, after about 450 miles of highway/city driving on my new southbend stage 3 clutch, I got on it in 2nd and 3rd..

After I slowed down a little, I smelt the slight smell of clutch.. I could faintly detect it for second..

Instantly I'm thinking great - my new clutch is smoked.. so I went home to think about what I just did.

Today I took the car for a ride, I got on it in 3rd gear and it pulled fine up to 6500.. then I hit it again in 2nd, granny shifted into 3rd (I did that last night too ) and all was well - no odor.

Anyone have any ideas what the smell was?

for some reason my vast stg 3 clutch smells when i launch.. but it never slips.

same thing happened to me. after break in period i did a little pull and noticed the same smell u mentioned. but now i dont smell nothing clutch still feels fine and holds well

Anyone have any ideas what the smell was?

Haha seriously.. I'm constantly like "did you hear that??".. "what was that noise??" and when my OBD beeps and blinks at me I jump.. even though it's usually just low fuel or washer fluid.

Damn B5 S4 has me shook.

I'm like that too paranoid about everything. I remember the first time the low windshield fluid light came on. I was like WTF is this volcano thing, and pulled over to look at manual.

I have to agree with you guys. Any little sound or something doesn't feel right, I bug the fuck out.
