    Factory warranty almost over!!!!

So my factory warranty is going to be over at the end of September. I have about 42750 miles on the car so far but put on like 500 or so miles as I just recently purchased this awesome car a month ago. The 45000 scheduled maintenance is coming up. Is there anything I should do as in replacements/checkup before I let my warranty run out?? I do have a 2 year COP on this car but I am not sure if that is an extension of the original warranty or if there is stuff that is left out. I do have an issue in reverse (sometimes in first) where there is a noticeable grinding noise when I turn the wheel and let off the clutch. Now this is not easily reproduced and my last visit at the dealer I mentioned it and they couldn't find it. I really hope this isn't a major issues and I don't want to get screwed in the future so I am trying everyday to record this noise. I know I have asked this already but has anyone experienced this and how did the remedy the situation?? What is the usual cost of the 45000 checkup?? Is there anything I should be aware of as in them doing the right work? Also what the normal oil change interval when using synthetic oil on these cars? What synthetic oil do you guys use? I came across two types, AMSOIl at 5w-40 or the mobile 1 at 0w-40. Anyone's help is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks guys.

I use Mobil 1 15W-50, with Lucas oil stabilizer but then again I’m in cali...
I use gunk motor flush before every oil change, then add less than half a quart of Lucas oil stabilizer, the valve train on my altima looks like it was built yesterday…and the car has 120K+

First off, get the extended warranty and soon (do you have a time machine?). Second, some policies have a 30 day period before they take affect so ask the question and read the fine print. Don't get caught unaware.

I just bought mine and if your is Fidelity Warranty service, which most audi dealers use, than the warranty is effective as soon as you sign the contract. I totally recomend it considering Ive had over 15K in warranty work done in just the past 4 months. This car is one of the most unreliable cars I have ever had... Possibly my last audi just because of it.

I hate to ask Penguin, but what kind of work was required to your Audi in 4 months time that cost $15k? That's got to be some major engine or tranny work? Good you had the warranty.

Wait, you have CPO? You have warranty for another 2 years and/or 100k. Why buy an extended warranty. That's the whole point of getting a CPO car so you don't have to buy an extended warranty. You already paid for it in the price of the car.

I'm not sure if the CPO warranty is as comprehensive as the originally factory warranty or is bumper to bumper like some of the extended warranties you can buy, but it does guarantee more than a basic powertrain warranty.
