    Possible bad DV?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm running a 2871R elim setup with Revo. SPS3 setting B9 T6. The car is 03 1.8t I have a profec Spec II boost controller, running 18psi low setting and 21psi high setting. Everything has been running great, although the other day I was driving my car a little harder than normal on the highway and i noticed there was some hesitation. The car will pull hard and then it's like the boost bleeds off a bit and then it pulls hard again, sometimes occuring 2-3 times throughout the rev range. The car will hit max boost and hold but during a long pull it's noticable. My 007 DV is like 3-4yrs old I've never cleaned it or opened it up, I'm wondering if the DV needs maintenace, spring needs to be changed or if my boost controller needs to be setup different. Any help would be much appreciated.

haha never cleaned or greased it? You should take them apart, clean, and regrease every 6 months or so. Definitely could be your problem

I'll give it a good cleaning and see what happens. What type of grease do you use? Also what color spring should I be using with my setup?

grease it up with high temp grease from Mobil 1, based on the boost your running. I think if I'm not mistaken you need a yellow spring for the dv.

Yeah I'm experiencing this too but it could be one of two things for me. At WOT I get some hesitation as the boost is crawling pas 17psi and it stutters. I hear a rattling like a tin can so it could also be my HFC just shot at this point.

I know its not the CPs since I just swapped out new ones.

    Re: Possible bad DV?

What about plugs? Gap? Reason I bring this up is I never noticed during the summer 80+F. The past week it's been down in the 50's This morning it was 44F. I obviously don't hammer on the car when it's cold but outside temp is one of the changing factors since I noticed this issue.
