Re: need help on decision 05 B6 A4 or 05clk320

sure the mercedes isa nice car... but if your going to get that why not get a clk500.. my buddy jsut got an 05 with 60k miles for 24k... of course thats in my state maybe not yours... but to me.. i would say go with the audi.. less miles... so your going to be in it for much muhc longer... mercedes has almost 100k... thats up there... 39k isnt bad at all. sure the mercedes has navi... but factory navi sucks on lmost all makes... and warranty is a plus..

    just my 84 cents
    B5 A4 - silver [gone]
    B6 a4 - Crystal Blue [current]

    x2

I had the same dilemma when i purchased my car a couple months ago i also wanted a CLK with higher miles but being in a family that has three mercedes with LOW mileage Ml350 with 45k, c230 with 20k, and a sclass with 12k, there are still a lot of problems with mercedes. I would never buy a mercedes with over 50k and it doesnt have the sport feeling in a automatic. Get a manual if you get a A4 or you will regret it. the driving experience is totally different.

^^see all German cars are better after 100k believe me and never forget that, no matter which German car we've owned after 100,00 have always ran stronger and had fewer problems honest. They say at 100k we are just breaking in.

2nd. My parents have a '99 ML430 and '01 S500 both with over 100k miles now. Very little problems during the warranty period (almost non existent on the S500) and outside of warranty. Just regular maintenance.

Also a MB fan here. Had one before my A4.

I don't think it's particularly associated with only Benz but any German car over 100k. Repairs aren't cheap on German cars. But case and point, both of my parents cars are over 100k and all they have spent money on is oil changes. I can't remember when they needed a repair last.

If you said a CLK 500 with less miles, I would have voted for that seeing that it seems you were going for automatic. Personally, I'd pass on MB because of lack of manual trans and I'm not a big fan of the only manual trans car they have.
