Bumper removal isn't hard at all. I did it for the first time last weekend. Just make sure you have a T25 socket, a long extender for the socket, and a flat head. Took me about 2 hours to take it off and put it on having never done anything like that before...

    Re: black plates behind fogs

Do you have to worry about it not lining up correctly when you reinstall it? Are there any shims or anything, like a fender would have? If not, I take it that it is pretty much just a plastic cover with some screws.

    Re: black plates behind fogs

There are two screws that line up and slide into the body on each side and are held on with nuts that are accessed from the wheel well (this is where you will need the socket extension). Once you get those on and not even tightened down with the nuts, the bumper will basically sit there on it's own.

I swear there is a little bit more gap between my bumper and my hood now on the sides of the grille. But I think it's just my imagination because there are no gaps around the headlights or sides by the fenders...

    Re: black plates behind fogs

anyone have pics of how this looks like without the black plates, because they are annoying me a bit. But I also don't want to over expose the intercooler.

    Re: black plates behind fogs

Behind the grill your bumber will have a fork like protrusion and the height is adjustable on this...its counter clokwise to tighten..that can change the gap on the sides of the grill where it meets the hood. Took me a bit to understand how it worked..but after taking it off the second time I had it down....

Never thought of removing those covers...what is the goal? More air flow to the IC?
