    Mr. Clean car wash thingy...

Has anyone tried one of those Mr. Clean car wash guns as kind of a poor mans foam gun/water filter? I've been wanting to get a foam gun and for some reason I just remembered those things. Thanks a lot!

For the cost of the filters and other accesories you should just get a gilmour foam gun.

Depends on what your local water is like. My local water is high in lime, which leaves white water spots. So the Mr. Clean is worth it for me.

if you dry it quickly enough, this shouldn't be a problem

the mr clean's car wash thing isn't worth the money imo. i bought one a long time ago at walmart and thought it was great. then i started getting more OCD and used different soaps so it became a glorified hose nozzle. but then i found a better one at lowe's that foams better and gives you different options on what kind of stream you want.... for half the price...

just dry your car after correctly and you'll have no problem with spots

I would just like to have something relatively inexpensive to filter the water and something to make foam, just figured that might cover both needs.

It doesn't make foam, that's the reason why I stoped using mine. As far as the filter goes, I think it's convienant and not really much more expensive when you consider the cost of microfiber towels and the added risk of swirl marks if you're not careful.

I have a heavy duty echo leafblower, the problem is that it leaves little spider streaks.

Well its air, so not scratches. It hits the water and makes the water spread out into like 50 tiny streaks and then when they dry its still visible.

If your car is properly waxed this should not be an issue, water will bead up on your car into large droplets.

And the only thing the Mr. Clean car wash is good for is filtering out the hard water, your money is better spent on a Water Blade.

its $35...not worth it? It has a filter in it and can soap up your car fast. Idk....this thing saves me the trouble having 2 buckets and trying to roll a foam gun in.

Yeah I didn't really care about the air drying aspect of it, I'd still hand dry. I was just wondering if it was worth it for the foaming feature and the water filtration.

thats bad if it streaks. that means your paint is ruff and dry which needs to be clayed and waxed. a leaf blower is useless if your car is not waxed. once it is waxed the water rolls off instantly and drying is a breeze.

the foaming feature is not really foam at all its just barely a soap and water mix slaped onto the car.

You still need to connect the mrclean like a hose nozzle which is the same way you connect a foam gun. It only take ten seconds to connect a foam gun. Also there are quick connects for foam guns where you can switch back to a regular water nozzle in seconds. Foam guns are only like 15-20 dollars more and you will be satisfied in the long run.

That's not true, I was getting 8-12 washes per carterage, not to mention the replacements only cost about $7. For $350 you could have a few cases of them, and don't forget that system also requires you to buy refils which cost $45 each plus $120 per replacement carterage. That's a little overkill unless you're a pro detailer or own a whole fleet of cars.

if you get any dirt and swipe it across your paint it will induce scratches. use the waterblade only on the windows.

I like the mr clean thing. the soap sprayer isn't all that great but it gets the job done. I really like the filter though. I can tell the difference if I use it or not. The filter is also nice when you're clay baring. I use the water blade thing on my white car knowing that it will scratch if there's dirt but it saves a ton of towels and really saves time.
