What's Pos/Neg?

Hey guys, quick question. I'm putting HID's into my halogen h7 housings and I was wondering what was positive and what was negative.

Red: +
Brown: -

Right?

That should be correct.

I'm not exactly sure why Audi/VW decided to go against the red/black norm for electronics but they did.

I think most if not all German cars use brown as ground.

Yup all german cars are brown grounds... I was surprised when I saw my dads el camino with black grounds :). The 944 and 914 porsche both have brown grounds.

keep in mind our cars have a crap load of wiring... brown isnt always ground... and brown isnt the only ground color. In the case of the headlights, brown is the ground though. There are so many different wires its hard to keep one color for one thing...

so brown is the ground for headlights. This just made my life o much easier. New headlights going in tomorrow :). well actually, would it be the same for the wires on the parking lights/blinkers?
