    Wheel Problems ?

I am looking at 18x8 usp rims off ebay http://http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotor...mZ280264729173 and i was at the shop talking to the guys that I would get the new tires and have them installed and they told me that getting a bigger rim would give me a much harder ride and my ball joints and front dent would go much earlier than expected. I know many of you have gone up in rim size. Has it affected any thing ride? ball joints or front dent ? if so how much should i get these rims ?

    Re: Wheel Problems ?

I think you should get these rims because your car has he same suspension structure than a USP that comes with this wheel size. IMO This will not cause your ball joint or anything to break but you could expect a harder ride than with smaller rims...

    Re: Wheel Problems ?

when getting bigger wheels, always expect a harsher ride. not really because of the bigger wheels, but the smaller tires you have to use to accomodate them. ive never heard anything about ball joints and such wearing faster? i mean, maybe it will put a bit more pressure on them...but if you stay as close as you can to the same rolling diameter as your stock wheels i think youll be fine. the speedo will be a bit off too, but not like that matters. our cars are set so when the speedo says 40 youre really doing 37. with my 19's my car is now at 1mph under what the speed says instead of 3.

oh and your links not working.

    Re: Wheel Problems ?

ohh those were b5 rs4 reps. those are my old wheels. those wheels are kinda heavy, but they are relatively strong. i saw a minimal change in on the speedo, maybe 1mph difference. seller ships them very fast though. i got them in 4 days i believe.
