lot of money for a turbo that doesn't do much. i remember buying one of them from you about a year ago for $750. luckily SPP was awesome about helping me out with the warranty and i got my $750 back since it died so soon. Went GTRS since the K04s were not available at the time and have been so so so glad i did ever since.

SSP is awesome, but that is allot for a little tiny turbo. buy a GTRS from them instead, cheapest price you will find for a new GTRS with hardware kit, unless that went up too, i don't know.

When I was looking for one a few months ago that was the price everywhere that was able to get them. The $750 prices are pretty much BS since they only count once every 6mo when they get 5 in stock. The retail price my shop wanted for a K04-15 was $1395 how about that!?!?!

I'm not slamming SSP at all, the price for K04s is high anywhere you look. I am just saying a K04 is even a bigger waste now since it's even more $$ and you still don't have much to show for it in the end. i can't even imagine driving a 1.8t without a GTRS in it at this point i have gotten to love it so much.
Again, check them out for other parts, they have very competitive pricing.

I agree widgget. I had a K04 for about 2 months before it died. I would have never gotten it in the first place but at the time I couldn't get my dad to front me the money for a FMIC so no BT. Real K04's come from Germany and Garrets are made in the US, where are we gonna get a better deal these days lol.

Hi guys, thanks for the plug on the GTRS kits and more...But this thread is just for sale of the k04-0015s we have in stock currently. $1395 is the MSRP with other shops, currently we have 4 more, but 2 will most likely be picked up today from one of our Vendors.

No prob Hubert. I felt kinda bad bringing it up but i have to agree that the K04 is not a very good bang for your buck. i'm SURE there will be people in certain situations that the K04 is their best choice, it's got tons of TQ. i just wish someone would have pointed that out to me before i spent all the money on it i would have waited a few extra months to get it back together with a GTRS after my K03 went dead about two weeks after buying the car.

Again, you guys are great and have excellent pricing on tons of items (including the K04 since they do seem to be in the $1300ish range everywhere else). sorry for the slightly negative light of my post. You'll hear from me soon with an order for one of those Tipronic shifter knob mods!!!!! best of luck to you guys with the sale!

Eric likes to scare Hubert when he is typing CHUD on vwvortex. On occasion Hubert has Tourette's Disorder and shouts CHUD randomly. It might because he misses drinking Balut juice or eating Adobo ice cream. Eric says it's a phase and should be back to normal after stretching a set of 215/35-19 on a 13" wheel.

Euro has regained against the dollar based on the current economic status. It was a record low for the year of 1.28 but now back up to the 1.40s

I've been wanting one

I'd rather have low end torque without much lag. I don't drag race the Audi, I know it's not fast in a straight line. I also prefer driving with lots of turns, and significant turbo lag makes powering out of a turn annoying. After I get the injectors, FMIC, and meth injection installed, k04 is next on the list.

Then there's the benefit of staying stock'ish on a daily driver. After all the threads about BT problems, and not seeing many about k04 problems, the reliability aspect becomes a contributing factor. I love wrenching as much as anyone else, but that doesn't mean I want to -have- to do it when things break at inopportune times.

I do wish they were a bit cheaper though...
