its the actual red light that says BRAKE on it, not on the LCD screen if thats what you mean... I just flashes and does the beeping sound 3 times

well u should fir have that warning "(O)"... indicating low brake fluid, then when it gets to the critical point, the brake light will startflashing. u probably need new pads/ rotors, or both... that was my case

the same thing happened to me. i added brake fluid and it went away. just do a quick visual of the pads and rotors. usually when your pads start to go you will get the pad warning on the display.

x3 was happening to me for a while, I took it in to my dealer and they added brake fluid. Since then It has not happend again

same here added some brake fluid haven't seen light since...

^^ same deal here.. low brake fluid.. actual brake sensor was not going off

it doesnt mean low brake fluid. Adding break fluid may make the light stop, but its not correcting the problem. The problem is your rotors are getting thin...the computer is sending more than normal amounts of brake fluid to the breaks to compensate for the thin rotors which makes the light blink. Adding more brake fluid will temporarily correct the problem by confusing the computer into thinking the its not sending as much fluid to the brakes, but the real problem is the rotors. I had to replace mine on my B7 at 15k so not having a lot of miles doesnt mean anything....

man, thats good to know about the rotors. why do you think the rotors go so fast? I had the same rotors on my civic for 96k. had them resurfaced twice but thats it. the first time was after 60k and the last was around 90k.

rotors huh? I am using the same OEM brakes and rotors since purchasing the car 2 years back. I already have 39XXX miles now.

I have to disagree with the rotors being worn down. Although I don't want to rule that out completely, I firmly believe you need to add break fluid and that is all for now. If the problem comes back quickly then I would have the rotors looked at and checked for specs on them or the check around the master cylinder to see if there's fluid around it because then it would simply be a leak.

^ I too would agree with that because I have not had one issue since adding the brake fluid and its already been a few months.
