    Trying to and an amp to power the JL Stealthbox. Looking for line level inputs

    The amp requires 4 wires for input.

    Left +
    Left -
    Right +
    Right -

    Do I use the red or blue circles for the +'s?

    Do I use the green or yellow circles for the -'s?

    red and blue for the + and yellow for the -

    you really only need 1 input, usually the rear, wire the amp to mono mode.

    It is not a good idea to take one side of a stereo signal to your sub. some bass information may be in the other channel. use the rear feeds so your fader still works properly. but i do agree once you get the left and right signal to the sub amp. bridge the amp for more power. BTW. is this a dual voice coil sub or single? It will decide whether bridging is best or not and whether to wire the voice coils in series or parallel. what amp? Certain amps may have trouble running a dual voice coil sub in bridged mode. the impedance can drop very low. You will be using both blue circles for positive left and right and the common ground (green) for negative on both channels.(ciricles in schematic). like someone above said, be sure to tap into a low level signal and not an amplified signal.

    I didn't even know they made a stealthbox for the B5.

    They don't it, it's been out of production since about 1998. You will have to trim the trunk liner and finagle it on Quatrro's and post 1997 trunks IIRC.

    Re: Trying to and an amp to power the JL Stealthbox. Looking for line level inputs

    I still have my phatbox and tool kit. I didn't loose any of that space. The B5 box has been discontinued for quite some time. It was made to fit the A4, so some trimming was necessary to make it fit the S4.

    I'll post up some pics once it's all said and done.

    Re: Trying to and an amp to power the JL Stealthbox. Looking for line level inputs

    If a amp is looking for high level inputs you want to basically connect the amp's input to your speakers. In my S4 with the speakers in the rear deck, I would just go there to make things easy.

    Judging from your pin-out diagram there the connections I would make would be:

    Left + -----> left deck woofer +
    Left - -----> left deck woofer -
    Right + ----> right deck woofer +
    Right - ----> right deck woofer -

    The line level pins should be the info being sent from your head unit to the factory amp, and are therefore low level signals. It wouldn't work too well to get your high level signals from low level lines.

    Hope this helps some, best thing you can do is test the lines... or just go to the rear speakers for the signal.

    Re: Trying to and an amp to power the JL Stealthbox. Looking for line level inputs

    I'll get the specs on the subs and amp, but I know that the RF punch 800.2 is more than enough power for the small 8" subs.

    I'm going to try grounding the negative to the green circle tonight and see how it sounds.

    Re: Trying to and an amp to power the JL Stealthbox. Looking for line level inputs

    ok.. Blue and green circles are the correct wires to tap for line level input.

    I'm pushing 2 Kicker RMB8 subs (4 ohms each) with a RF Punch 800.2. I'll take pics once everything is buttoned up.

    Thanks all for the help!
