Aftermarket Radio Question- Just bought a USP04

Hey guys, first poster here. I just bought a 04 a4 USP. Unfortunately it doesnt have the navigation package. I really want an all in one unit (GPS, Ipod, Bluetooth, etc) that can fit my car. I really dont like the pull out screen ones. What receivers do most people use?

I really like this one but crutchfield says it doesnt fit :(

im not finding a lot on the z1. Is it an old unit?

Also, I have installed plenty of stereos in hondas and imports before, how much harder is it with audis? Where would I get the faceplace for one of these bad boys?

I picked up my wiring harness and indash kit from a local shop in town. I'd say the hardest part was taking out the stock head unit if you don't have the radio keys.

yes, the z1 is old. buy the unit on ebay and find an upgraded hard drive with the z3 firmware...it will save you quite a bit of cash. the install isnt too bad, you just need the dash kit and radio cage.

have you looked into the RNS-E (OEM nav).. tons of info at www.navplus.us.. it is DVD based nav with bird-eye view on a 6.5" screen.. plug-n-play and sends info to DIS on cluster.. 2x SD card slots for MP3s.. Bluetooth, DVD player, Satellite radio can all be added..

best was to go for flawless integration, but aftermarket is cheaper and likely has more features.. depends which is more important..

    congrats on the new USP!

I think they start around $1,000 plus add-ons. I would love one b/c I like the OEM look - no blue or green LEDs for me...

I would guess as well with the RNS-E you get a little extra security, I would guess a random thief is more likely to try and rip our an Avic Z3 knowing they can fit it into any car than an Audi RNS-E that is OEM and will only fit in an Audi.
